THE BEST TWO WEEKS

THE ZONE!!


SO SAD!!!! goes the post!! 

They had to leave and the BEST TWO WEEKS is now over! They were truly touched and left so much of themselves in this unnavigated,  untouched part of the Philippines where they worked with the greatest missionaries who everyday selfishly give up for the people they love. That was the Zone!! Where these members and missionaries are anxiously waiting for a chapel to be dedicated so they can continue to worship and partake of the blessings of the true gospel. 
Marcela and Gloria would have left everything there aside from their hearts which were captured from day one. They would have walked away with just the clothes and shoes they were wearing and would have left all their possessions to help the people. They would and they DID!!!

Blessed Sunday in Balaquid!!

new shirt and tie!!

Marcela and Gloria spent another week in Balaquid, we call it the "BUKID". For those who understand Filipino, you will know what I mean. They fell in love with the people. their happiness was contagious and their humility was enlightening. The boy in the picture was one of their favorites. They donated the new shirt and tie for him so he will come to church with new clothes. He came without the tie and asked the girls to help him with it. They had training with older brothers and did a great job.
Of course, Marcela tells this story with tears running down her face and so much true happiness with the fact that she has learned so much from God's children in this part of the world. It's their world. To my children, IT'S HOME!!!

Missionary Mode!!

I received a letter from my son Elder Diego Malit  laboring in Micronesia Guam Mission and he expressed his gratitude to Heavenly Father for giving him the gift to understand the language in the islands expeditiously. In two months he was speaking Chuukese and loving the ability to communicate with the people he is learning to love ever so much. He is truly blessed considering we never taught him another language as a child when we could have being able to speak two to three other languages from the Philippines. Our shortcoming as parents is now being mended by the gift of tongues a missionary can receive if he is willing to learn the language of the people he wishes to show love for.
Clear south of the same Pacific Ocean, three other children of mine are also doing their work in the Lord's vineyard. Paulo, who had just finished a two year mission in Barcelona, Spain  served a short term mission in Ormoc, Leyte, Philippines, one of his own father's area when he served there 30 years ago. Marcela and Gloria had the opportunity to work with Sister missionaries out in the "BUKID" (rice fields)  in Balaquid, who just started a group that is now a district waiting for a chapel to be dedicated. I have never even heard of the places they have seen. 
My children are on MISSIONARY MODE!!!

Thoughts!!!

I'm sitting in my loft and today I heard the silence. The dryer is going in one corner of the house and through my windows I can imagine the street noise. On regular days, my children will fill this room where everything that creates sound will simultaneously be on and amazingly , they can still hear each others voices and create the memories of friendship and family that make them as strong as they are. As much as I write in regular paper and pen, I would like to start to share in this medium, too. Here goes... here's my offering to my children and my husband... who makes life worth living with no REGRETS!!
